If I am interested in bringing my dog to Doggie Domain what do I need to do?

For Day Care & Boarding
The first step would be to review the prerequisites listed in the register section. There are no exceptions. This is the first step in determining if our facility is the right fit for your dog.

Then follow the steps outlined in the Sign Me Up section. Again, there are no exceptions.

While this may seem like an extensive process, these measures help us provide a safe, healthy, enjoyable environment for all of our guests. Our clients consider their dogs as valued family members; we do too.

What are your rates for day care? For boarding stays? What do these rates include?

For Day Care
Our daycare rates are determined by two factors: 1) the size (lbs.) of the dog and 2) whether the dog visits for a half day or full day. Discounted rates are available when day care visits are purchased in pre-paid packages. Our rates page in the day care section clearly spells this out.

Our day care and benefits pages describe all of the fun and love that is included in a day care visit.

For Boarding
Our boarding rates are determined by two factors: 1) the size (lbs.) of the dog and 2) the size of the sleeping room. Our rates page in the overnight section shows room options and sizable discounts for shared sleeping rooms.

As you will see on the Boarding benefits page of our boarding section, our rates include many items you may typically pay for in addition to the overnight fee at other boarding facilities.

Do I need to make reservations for daycare? Boarding? If so, how far in advance?

For Day Care
Yes, you need reservations. After your dog has completed the interview process, we ask that your reservations for day care be made at least a day in advance. Most of our clients are on a regular schedule (e.g. Wednesdays and Fridays), which is preferable. In any case, we prefer as much notice as possible.

If necessary, all cancellations need to be made at least a day in advance. Again, we appreciate as much notice as possible.

For Boarding
Yes, you need reservations. Our boarding, like our day care, is on a first-come basis. We appreciate as much notice as possible. We realize that unexpected situations occur, and will do our best to accommodate your dog(s). For holidays and peak seasons, to guarantee availability, making reservations as early as possible is critical.

If necessary, cancellations need to be made as soon as possible. Cancellations must take place 10 days prior to check-in for holidays and peak periods or deposit money will be forfeited.

My dog is still a puppy; can I still bring him in for boarding & daycare?

Puppies are happily welcomed to DOGGIE DOMAIN once they have completed their puppy shots. This includes three rounds of DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus), rabies, and bordatella vaccines.

My dog is not spayed/neutered yet. Can she/he still come to DOGGIE DOMAIN?

We require that puppies of 6 months of age or older be spayed or neutered in order to attend DOGGIE DOMAIN. This is because of the dynamic that a dog that is not fixed brings into the playroom. Additionally, we do not want to be a part of facilitating any unwanted pregnancies.

Why should I consider bringing my dog to doggie daycare?

Doggie day care offers many benefits for both you & your dog. Exposing your dog to different situations, playmates and people is critical for developing a well-socialized dog.

My dog has never been around other dogs. Can I still bring him to DOGGIE DOMAIN?

Our daycare environment can be a great opportunity for a dog to learn how to socialize with other dogs in a supervised manner. As long as your dog meets all of the requirements we have for dog guests, we will set up a meet & greet appointment. This is to assess your dog’s comfort level at DOGGIE DOMAIN and determine if he is a good candidate for our environment.

How often should I bring my dog to daycare?

Most of our doggie guests visit twice per week -- some more frequently, and some less frequently. The one thing that we do recommend is that your dog comes at least once a month to stay in tune with our environment. We find that if dogs do not visit on a regular basis, they often are resettling into the group dynamics every visit, which is not ideal for them or the other doggie guests.

Is there a discount if my dog comes for daycare on a regular basis?

We do offer pre-paid package discounts.

My small dog loves to play with other small dogs but he is afraid of big dogs. How would that be handled?

We have two large playrooms for our dog guests. Generally, we have the smaller dogs in one room and the bigger dogs in the other. The only exception is if there is a dog whose temperament and energy level better match dogs in the other room. Knowing our dog clients as personally as we do, we are able to make that judgment call on a case-by-case basis.

My dog loves playing with other dogs but gets tired after a few hours and just wants to rest. Does he have to stay the entire day?

No, we offer half days of play which is up to 5 hours. We find for many of our dog guests that this is a preferred amount of playtime.  However, if a dog is staying the whole day but needs a rest, he/she can always find a lap or a futon to snuggle on.

I need to board my dog, but he does not get along with other dogs and does not like people. Should we use your facility?

No, the dogs that stay with us get 5 hours of supervised play with other dogs each day. For this reason, we can only accept dogs that interact well with other dogs. Also, if your dog has ever attacked a person or shown strong aggressive tendencies we will not accept him as a guest. Safety is our number one concern.

I am going out of town for two weeks. Is DOGGIE DOMAIN able to watch my dog for that length of time?

Absolutely! We have been thrilled to have dog guests for 2 months at a time. Also, we give free nights for extended stays.

My two dogs are used to sleeping together at home. Can they board together?

Sure, we have sleeping rooms that are large enough to comfortably fit three dogs (depending on their size, of course). We have shared-room discounts for dogs that stay in the same sleeping room.

What do I need to bring for my dog when he stays overnight?

• Food – needed: We do ask that you provide your dog’s own food from home. This is to maintain consistency in your dog’s diet so as not to cause any digestive issues.
• Bedding – optional: If you think your dog would be more comfortable with his own bedding, you are welcome to bring it if it fits in his sleeping room. If you would prefer, we are happy to provide a blanket or raised bed for your dog.
• Toys – optional: We have plenty of community toys for the dogs in the playrooms but if you can bring a favorite toy and/or bone for you dog in his sleeping room. We do not allow rawhides, pig ears or greenies.
